Audio-Technica U853R Cardioid Hanging Microphone is a professional condenser hanging microphone designed for speech, theater, orchestra, and choir sound reinforcement and recording. Suspended above the performance area, this hanging microphone provides clear, natural sound pickup while remaining visually unobtrusive.

The U853R hanging microphone features UniGuard® innovations that provide excellent immunity to radio frequency interference, ensuring reliable performance in environments with wireless devices and RF sources. Its cardioid polar pattern focuses pickup on the desired sound source while helping reduce unwanted ambient noise.

This phantom-powered microphone accepts interchangeable condenser elements (sold separately), allowing different pickup patterns to suit various applications. The included 7.6 m cable terminates in a TA3F connector for use with the supplied AT8538 in-line phantom power module, which incorporates an 80 Hz UniSteep® high-pass filter to help reduce low-frequency noise.
